And just to add to what's already been said, google "wordpress getting started," which will give you an idea of how wordpress is configured and how the content is edited. You will then have an idea how little EW can contribute to the process. Unless, of course, you are at the Morten Rand-Hendriksen level of proficiency and want to create and edit Wordpress themes. Are you? ;-)
Lots of folks use EW to create custom WordPress themes or to blend a WordPress blog into the rest of their site. On my list of "do" before the end of the year is updating some of my client sites that use both WordPress for the blog section and a static EW site for the rest of it.
It does require you to be proficient at HTML, CSS and have at least a working acquaintance with PHP if you intend to do so.
FWIW, I met Morton face to face earlier this year. I discovered that our workflow on WordPress sites was remarkably similar. One thing that was different in his I've since adopted since it was simlier than my previous method.
So if you are going to use WordPress in EW I'd recommend his method and the book that explains it.
